Is this free for paid subscribers? I made the ginger bug a couple weeks ago and I'm not sure it's right. I just joined as a paid subscriber. I check out the guide to fermentation which I had access to
But realized that isn't what I needed. 🤷♀️. It's awesome though. I'm really exited to make some of your recipes as well.
I'm so happy you joined as a paid subscriber! 🤍 And yes, the Natural Soda Guide is included for all paid subscribers, which is why I just sent it your way. 😊
The Fermentation 101 guide is a great starting point, but the soda guide dives much deeper into ginger bugs, including how to tell if yours is ready, troubleshooting, and plenty of recipes to get you started.
If, after reading through it, you're still unsure about your ginger bug, just send me a photo or leave me a comment. I'd be more than happy to help you troubleshoot it. 💛 I can't wait to hear what you make first!
I would love to get this guide and before I use the discount (thank you!) I have a question about carbonation. I've heard that commercially carbonated drinks are not recommended for certain imbalances and conditions (too much acidity). Is this true of fermented carbonation too? How is this drink good for gut health? Thanks for your reply!
Hi Catherine! 🤍 Great question. While both commercially carbonated drinks and naturally fermented drinks are fizzy, they're quite different. Commercial sodas are carbonated by injecting carbon dioxide, whereas a ginger bug creates carbonation naturally during fermentation.
The drink can also contain beneficial organic acids and, depending on how it's prepared, live microbes that may support gut health. That said, if someone has acid reflux, gastritis, active ulcers, or finds carbonated drinks trigger their symptoms, even naturally fermented drinks may not feel good for them. Everyone's gut is different.
I always recommend starting with a small amount and seeing how your body responds.
This looks fabulous—can’t wait to try it!
Thank you! Its so fun to make. I hope you enjoy the process :)
